Stark State’s BASE Program assists students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with successful transition to Stark State College, offering support and tools that will aid in the student’s success on campus and beyond.
Students will meet with a counselor in the Disability Support Services (DSS) Office to conduct an interview for the purpose of giving each instructor a personalized profile, highlighting strengths and areas of need. The student and the DSS counselor will meet at least one time per week to work on organization, time management, communication, etc. There are also monthly social opportunities.
