Nicole Crews is a lifetime board member of Milestones Autism Resources, where her passion for community involvement and family interests aligns. She is the former board chair and has also served as executive committee member, chair of the diversity taskforce, benefit committee member, and chair of the HR advisor committee. She truly enjoys helping further the mission, since she is aware of the important role that Milestones plays in ensuring that families, caregivers, and professionals have access to the appropriate resources to assist in the autism journey.
“As a mother of autistic twins and a board member, I am deeply humbled to accept this award from Milestones Autism Resources. This recognition is a poignant reminder of the importance of advocacy and support for individuals and families touched by autism. Everyone should have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.”
Nicole believes that it takes a village to raise a child, especially an autistic child. Knowing that she and her husband could not do it alone, they worked together to identify the appropriate resources that serve as an extended part of their family. She is most proud of the title of wife to her husband, Guy, mother to her twin boys, daughter, and son, and “NiNi” to her three grandchildren.
Nicole is the Director of Global Inclusion and Diversity at Eaton. She has more than 20 years of HR and DE&I experience. She is charged with helping to lead the company in modeling a comprehensive diversity, equity and inclusion strategy with supporting programs, initiatives and action plans that positively impact Eaton employees and the community.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management with a human resources
concentration from the University of Akron and an MBA from Florida A&M University.

Dr. Masterson served on the Milestones Board of Directors from 2014 to 2023, and for 10 years served on the conference committee as co-chair, working tirelessly to help the Milestones Conference grow from local to national.
“The growth has been astounding. With a focus on evidence based information, but also hearing the perspectives of professionals and self advocates, is amazing. It makes me proud to be a Clevelander that we have this amazing resource and it is so rewarding to be a part of that.”
Dr. Masterson has received specialized training in working with individuals with developmental disabilities and ASD. She received her degree in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Behavioral Health at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital.
Sandy Petrovic’s autism journey began almost 30 years ago with the diagnosis of her toddler son. Immersed in educating herself and advocating for him, she became an avid attendee of Milestones’ programs and the annual conference.
Sandy and her son, David, became regular speakers at the conference after co-authoring their first book 10 years ago, and they have since presented to various groups around the country. Together they strive to enlighten the world about the realities and potentials of those with differences to break down barriers. Sandy dedicated eight years to Milestones Conference Committees, including her service as a Conference Co-Chair for three years, followed by a term on the Executive Conference Committee from 2020 to 2022.
"My connection with Milestones started with a personal need, then joining conference committees led me into a different world. It's been a wonderful journey and such a learning experience. My role evolved from receiving information to opportunities on the other end where I could help enlighten people and give hope."
Sandy holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University here in Cleveland. She has authored many autism magazine articles and blog postings, and has contributed to three other books, including David’s recent children’s book.
Rachel Torrance, M.Ed., BCBA, COBA, has worked in the developmental disabilities field since 1998. Rachel regularly trains parents and professionals in districts and agencies. She has presented at the national, state, and international levels and written publications for various organizations.
Rachel was first introduced to Milestones by her late mother, who was an avid supporter and volunteer. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Milestones Autism Resources since 2015. She has served on the Executive Conference Committee for The Milestones National Autism Conference, and was the former co-chair of the Milestones ABA Professionals Group.
“This is time that I’ve spent doing what I love because I believe in the Milestones’ mission. It’s such an honor to follow in my mom’s footsteps this way.”
Rachel has taught students with disabilities in kindergarten through 12th grade across the continuum, including inclusion, intensive settings in the public district, and outside placement for students with more intensive needs. She is the former owner of a local ABA agency, which was successfully acquired in 2021.
Today, Rachel is self-employed with Behavioral and Educational Expert Services, LLC. She provides consultative services across settings (including public school districts), parent and professional training, assessments, behavior plan/educational plan development, and expert witness work. She is also co-owner of a small remote supervision training agency (Supervision Academy, LLC) for people pursuing BCBA/BCaBA certification.
