Milestones Autism Resources is lacing up its bowling shoes during the sixth annual Strike It Big for Milestones fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 11.
The family-friendly event is changing locations to Spins Bowl in Independence to help support the nonprofit organization, which supports and enriches the local autism community.
“Support from Strike It Big enables us to offer our autism Helpdesk, a free service that allows anyone – parents, family members, professionals in the autism field – to contact our professional staff for personalized guidance and resources,” said Laura Kravitz, the development manager at Milestones. “Because of Strike It Big, local families affected by autism are able to utilize this service that connects them to a critical support network.”
There are three ways to participate in the event by registering a team, donating to a team or bowler or sponsoring the event. If a team raises or pays more than $200, the team will bowl for free.
The afternoon will be filled with face painting, balloon twisting, crafts, a photo booth in addition to bowling.
“It’s so much fun and there’s such a sense of community,” Kravitz said. “It’s truly inspiring.”
Participants are encouraged to register by March 9, but walk-ins will be welcomed.
