Milestones Masterpieces Exhibit

Call for Artists: Milestones Autism Resources is looking for artists on the spectrum to showcase their art in a virtual gallery at the Milestones National Autism Conference. Applications accepted through April 1, 2021.

Description of the Virtual Art Exhibit: The virtual art exhibit will be open to all Milestones Conference attendees. We will be exhibiting the work of artists nationwide including professionals, as well as amateurs. Artwork will be displayed on the online conference site from June 16 through the closing of our on-demand sessions on August 15, 2021. 

Before applying, read through the instructions below carefully. Please note that you cannot save your progress and return to the application. The entire form must be completed in one sitting.

Submit Application

Guidelines for Applying to Exhibit Your Art:

• Age: Young adult 15+
• Images of one or two pieces of art per artist.
• Art can be two or three-dimensional and made of any material. (No performance art will be accepted.)

Requirements:

• Completed Artist Form
• Image of artwork to be displayed (uploaded JPEG or PDF file through the application process)
• Well-lit photograph of the artist (uploaded JPEG or PDF file through the application process)
• OPTIONAL: "Meet the Artist" Video (uploaded mp4 file through the application process)
• Artists are responsible for all costs associated with preparation of their artwork and submission.

Fees: There is no registration fee to participate in the virtual art exhibit.

Specifications for All Art:

• Art can be paintings, printmaking, drawings, photography, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, craftwork, and sculptures.
• Art can be any size as long as it can be clearly photographed.
• Art photo submitted must be original work.
• Art must be appropriate for all ages.

Art Review Process:

• The artists (or guardian, if applicable) will receive an email confirming their completed  Artist Form has been received by Milestones.
• The image of the artwork and submitted videos will be reviewed by Milestones staff to make sure they meet the specifications included above.
• The artist will be notified by email to inform them whether their art will be displayed in the exhibit.

Meet the Artist Video (Optional):   

Each artist is invited to record a short “Meet the Artist" Video. This is an opportunity to talk about your piece, tell how you created it, and what inspired you.  The video should be submitted in an mp4 format and be no longer than 2 minutes.  If the submitted video is longer, Milestones reserves the right to edit.                                                        

Selling Your Artwork: 

• The decision to sell artwork is up to each individual artist and is not required for participation.
• All sales are the sole responsibility of the artist.
• If you wish to list your piece for sale at the conference, respond "yes" to the question on your Artist Form. The artist (or guardian) email submitted on your application will be the contact for any interested buyers. (Milestones will not be able to assist with any art sales and cannot guarantee any piece will be purchased.)

Notes:

Milestones Autism Resources reserves the right to accept or reject any art submission at its sole discretion. Only complete applications will be considered.

Artists do NOT receive admission to the full Conference. We encourage artists who would like to attend the Conference to register online. The fee is $50.
