Social Media Groups

The Milestones Self-Advocate Social Group was created by self-advocates for self-advocates. The purpose of the group is to discuss common interests, make friends, and learn about topics important to the disability community. The group is hosted on Discord, a popular social site, and is available to access 24/7. Group members can look forward to talking about a wide range of interests in dedicated chat channels, such as video games, music, and sports, as well as attend monthly groups and special guest speaker events. If you have any questions about the group, or would like to become a member, please email Nathan Morgan at nmorgan@milestones.org

This video, along with the Online Safety video (shown below) is required viewing before requesting to join our Discord group.

Sunday, April 18th 5:00 – 6:00pm: Card and Board Game Group – Magic the Gathering and other Card Games
The community will meet via a Google Meets link (to be shared in the announcements channel) to show off their favorite trading cards, build decks together, and discuss strategies. Per community choice, Magic the Gathering will be the predominant focus for this event period. However, feel free to share about your Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, and other collections!

During the Book Club, members will meet to discuss the books they have recently been reading. We will take turns sharing the title of the book, what we enjoyed about it, things we may have disliked about it, and share suggestions with each other about other potential books to read. This is intended to be a relaxing conversation hour.

Wednesday, April 28th from 3:00 – 4:00pm: Monthly Discussion Group
Community members can meet in the Meeting Room voice channel on Discord to engage in casual conversation regarding topics of interest.
