Milestones Autism Resources will host its fourth annual Strike It Big for Milestones bowling extravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10.

The family-friendly event helps support the nonprofit organization, which was founded in 2003 to serve, support and enrich the local autism community.

“Strike It Big brings the community together so that Milestones can continue to serve local families affected by autism,” said Ilana Hoffer Skoff, executive director of Milestones Autism Resources.

Those interested in participating can create a team of up to six people. Teams that raise a minimum of $200 will receive a free hour of bowling, shoe rentals, lunch and entertainment at the event.

This year the event will take place on both the West side and the East side. Bowlers can choose between Freeway Lanes of Solon, 33185 Bainbridge Road, and Fairview Lanes, 21847 Lorain Road in Fairview Park.

Olympic swimmer Diana Munz of Moreland Hills will make a guest appearance at Freeway Lanes of Solon while superhero characters will interact with guests at Fairview Lanes. Jumper, the mascot for SkyZone, will make appearances at both locations.

Guests also can participate in a raffle to win a variety of prizes, including a Shinola watch from Alson Jewelers, a Vitamix blender and a children’s patio set.

“Milestones has made such a positive impact on my family and so many others,” said Philip Irvin, the East side event chair. “It is important for the community to join us on April 10 so that Milestones can continue to provide evidence-based, practical strategies to local families affected by autism.”

Joe Kraft, the West side event chair said, “My family has relied on Milestones for years as the organization that ‘schooled’ us on the diagnosis and connected us with professionals that changed our lives forever. Strike It Big is a fun event for those on the autism spectrum and for those who support them.”
