About Milestones Organization Who We Are
Milestones Autism Organization was founded in 2003 by parents to promote life long strategies of success for individuals with autism, from childhood through adulthood. To improve the level of educational and therapeutic programming available to individuals with autism, Milestones focuses on training professionals, paraprofessionals and parents in research-based successful educational interventions.

Milestones Organization is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization incorporated in the State of Ohio.
Our Mission
Milestones Organization provides Access, Education, Training and Collaboration for the autism community.
- Access: to information about each transition in a person's life and resources in our region for the autism community
- Education: through seminars, speaker series and conferences
- Training: for parents and professionals in proven, state-of-the-art interventions and therapies such as applied behavioral analysis (ABA). Workshops provide continuing education credit
- Collaboration: with professionals from autism service providers, clinics, autism schools and hospitals to further the cause of autism education
Brief History
Milestones was founded in 2003 by parents interested in improving the level of programming available for their children with autism, particularly by training professionals, paraprofessionals and parents in ABA. In August 2003, Milestones Organization hosted its first conference. Each year about 400 parents, educators and speech therapists come to learn about effective strategies from national and local speakers.
Target Audience
Our target audience is the autism community which we define as the professionals who work with individuals with autism and parents. The professionals are in the fields of education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, and social work.
Services
Milestones organizes an annual conference, training programs for para-professionals and professionals, and referral advice to families. |
